Windsor ranked among Canada’s most tariff-exposed cities, with vulnerability tied mainly to the auto and steel sectors, two industries highlighted as key local pressure points.
In Windsor, avg. asking rents ↓~2% yearly, a much smaller move than some other exposed markets, because thinner rental supply limited further downward pressure.
For Windsor, a listings report placed its rent trend inside a broader pattern: the most tariff-exposed cities saw faster declines, though local effects dominated.
For Windsor renters and owners, the takeaway was that trade pressure had begun to show up, but supply conditions remained the bigger near-term influence.
By Late-Q3 2026, the newest tariff rounds had not yet fully filtered into rents, so Windsor’s market was still reflecting earlier trade effects.
